Ouaga Stories Producers
BUILDING A NEW GENERATION OF AFRICAN PRODUCERS
Ouaga Stories is launching a training program for young African filmmakers to build their skills and support the entire film and audiovisual value chain in Africa. In 2026, the program will be open to nationals.
Ouaga Stories Producer is a strategic pillar of the program. It answers the structural shortage of African producers who are sufficiently trained to manage the entire production chain, from development to distribution in national and international markets.
Led by experienced professionals, the training program combines theoretical instruction, case studies, and hands-on experiences on film sets and within production companies. Participants also have the opportunity to engage with African and international experts, encouraging skill-sharing and networking.
Designed for four (04) emerging African filmmakers who are already active within production companies, this program combines theoretical sessions, case studies, personalized mentoring, professional internships, and meetings with experienced African and international filmmakers.
The program covers the entire production process:
– project development and support for creators;
– budgeting and financial planning;
– legal and contractual frameworks;
– international co-production;
– securing public and private funding;
– oversight of production, post-production, and distribution;
– marketing and distribution strategies for works.
Ouaga Stories Producer thus helps build a sustainable co-production ecosystem and strengthen the competitiveness of African projects in international markets.
